Ronald and Patricia Ernst

Your hosts - Ron & Pat Ernst

Ron is a retired high school science teacher. The last 17 years of his career were spent in his “dream job” as an Aerospace Education Specialist for NASA, where he combined his teaching experience with his life-long love of airplanes and space exploration. A native of the Bronx, New York, Ron is an avid New York Giants fan and has decorated the Gathering Room in the house with airplane models and Giants’ memorabilia. He is the chief cook at the bed and breakfast, serving guests each morning with a hearty and tasty breakfast.

Pat is a retired management accountant. All of her career was spent in not-for-profit institutions. She retired in 2017 as the Vice President for Finance of the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design in Lancaster, where she was able to combine her profession with her love of the arts. Pat is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, where she grew up in and around the Little Italy neighborhood and rivals her husband as a Baltimore Ravens fan . The living room of the house is filled with the memories of her life, family and travels. As Ron is the cook of the House, Pat is in charge of ambiance, both in the house and the garden.

Ernsy family at the Osceola Mill House Bed & Breakfast

Ron and Pat have been welcoming guests to their Lancaster County home since April, 2006. Together they have five children and nine grandchildren, who regularly gather at the Mill House for holidays and reunions. As the family has varying NFL loyalties, it is often a house divided.
